Ecommerce, comparison shopping platforms, marketplaces! What is our post pandemic direction, regional perspectives and the opportunities?

The time when ecommerce was just an additional sales channel to core retail is long past due. Pure players, direct to consumer solutions and other platforms penetrated the region. In our countries we can observe several speeds of ecommerce development, transformation efforts, and customer trends and expectations. Nevertheless we all got one big pandemic push in the direction of online business. Some got a larger boost to move to the next stage. Evenmore, there is an obvious fight over who will build, or transform online business to become a regional leader, in a new type of business, marketplaces. What is the real playground we all ought to understand to be successful in running business online? What are key leverages and relationships? What are the old business practices and transformations that threaten its own core existence. How to approach the transparency of information, customer behaviour change, profitability and efficient use of technology?

Darko Dujič, CEO at WeTeh, dedicated his career to building digital business models and sales. He is focused on balancing growth, customer satisfaction, intelligence, technology and speed of development.His business philosophy is built around the 4T model of growth – trust, transparency, technology and traffic.

WeTeh is an investment and management company with a team of senior executives that manage investments in ecommerce, marketplaces and ad tech. In Serbia they own the biggest comparison shopping platform with 1,5M monthly unique users and almost 1M offers in their product catalog – eponuda.com.

In the last seven years he and his team built the biggest comparison shopping platform in the Adriatic region with more than 1000 merchant partners and 5 mio offers in the catalog. The revenue, profit grew 10x.With partners exited and sold the company to Heureka group – the biggest CEE comparison shopping platform. He stayed there for over two years as a member of the board in the group and a CEO of Heureka Adriatic. Before that he worked 4 years at Google as country business development manager and head of performance for the Adriatic region. In the first decade of his career he held executive positions in Mercator, GfK and Pivovarna union, and co-founded two companies.
He is partner, investor and co-owner of several companies in the space of ecommerce, adtech, fintech, consultancy. His expertise is customer focused transformation, digital business model and revenue stream development. He consults several customers from retail, ecommerce, B2B, finance and consumer goods in the region.

He completed a masters in consumer behavior and strategic marketing at IMB. At Google he completed a post-MBA executive program on growth business models at Duke University, NC. He is advancing his knowledge on the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning and business intelligence.
